DIGITRANS – Adrion regional policies for fostering of Digital Transformation of SME>

Project summary:

Digitalization enhances the efficiency of work processes, reduces environmental impact, and supports the transition to a green economy. However, digitization remains underutilized, with varying support mechanisms across different regions of Europe. The DigiTrans project brings together ten (10) partners from nine (9) different countries, representing industry, business support organizations, public authorities, and academic institutions.

The project will implement a quadruple helix model (linking industry, academia, government, and the wider community) in each of its partnership regions. This model will serve as a collaborative platform for key stakeholders to promote digitization and the adoption of innovative technologies among SMEs, thus boosting their competitiveness. Additionally, through interregional cooperation, a shared platform will be established to consolidate international results, facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experiences, and create joint action plans to further advance digitization within the partnership.

A regional "State of the Art" analysis will be conducted to assess the current level of digitalization in each participating region. Following this, a cross-regional analysis will be developed to illustrate how regions can collaborate to increase the number of SMEs working with other innovation actors by 10%, fostering digitization and the adoption of Industry 4.0 technological solutions.

Through the DigiTrans project, cooperation will drive the adoption of digitalization among regional SMEs, enhance regional policies to promote research, technological development, and innovation, and contribute to strengthening innovation capacities in the Adriatic/Ionian region.
